Compared to DIN EN 737-3, the “Aer medicalis” monograph included in the appendix to the European Pharmacopoeia presents substantially modified purity characteristics. Particularly noteworthy is the significant reduction of the dew point temperature to -46°C atmospheric (equivalent to 67 ppm V/V), which presents considerable challenges. The value of 67 ppm V/V for water is equivalent to the dew point at a pressure of 200 bars and a temperature of 11ºC. The need to limit the water content to the condensation point is crucial, as water condensation could lead to corrosion damage and promote microbial growth.
